Teacher Stephanie Klinger Named Employee of the Month

Lucerne Valley Elementary School teacher Stephanie Klinger was named the school district’s certificated Employee of the Month during the January 13th Board of Trustees meeting.

The award was presented by LVUSD Superintendent Peter Livingston, who read the nomination letter from LVES Principal Ricky Anderson.

“Stephanie started midyear last year on our hybrid schedule,” Mr. Livingston said. “She is a natural at what she does and always wants to explain the real world value of what students are learning. Going into her first full year of teaching, Mrs. Klinger has done a fine job creating a safe and artistic learning environment. Students get to escape to Hogwarts every day and enjoy their time there.”

Furthermore, according to Mr. Anderson’s recommendation letter, Mrs. Klinger is a very enthusiastic teacher and very passionate about her work. She cares about her students and has a great rapport with them, according to Mr. Livingston.

“One thing that Stephanie is passionate about is the community of Lucerne Valley,” Mr. Livingston said. “She provides opportunities for community members to come into her class and share personal stories and curriculum-related discussions with the students. One thing that administration has been impressed with the work that she and her sister, Carissa Brander, have done for the site’s Thinking Map professional development. They have made staff members do Amazing Race challenges and other fun activities.”

Monica Tevis, the classified Employee of the Month for January, was unavailable on Thursday and will be honored at next month’s school board meeting.
