Marilyn Stafford and Alberto Rendon Named Employees of the Month

Third grade lead teacher Marilyn Stafford and Transportation Services Department dispatcher Alberto Rendon were named Employees of the Month at the regular meeting of the Lucerne Valley Unified School District’s governing board on February 11th.

Superintendent Peter Livingston presented the awards and shared comments from their supervisors, who nominated them.

“Marilyn Stafford is a caring educator who strives to keep a positive and safe environment for all students,” said Mr. Livingston. “Each of her students knows that Mrs. Stafford cares about their well-being, and they are loved. She has a soft spot for the neediest students and always gives them the desperately needed attention and support.”

Ms. Stafford started at Lucerne Valley Elementary School as a substitute and long-term substitute for five years before joining the LVES team. She has now been a full-time teacher at the site for three years.

“While at the school site, she has filled many roles to support staff and students. She offers support and advice to her teammates. She also serves a pivotal role behind the scenes sewing and designing costumes for the highly successful Destination Imagination group. Mrs. Stafford has refined her teaching methods while on distance and hybrid learning.”

Moreover, according to her nominator, she has shown a willingness to embrace these new challenges in education. Her caring personality and sense of humor make her fun to be around.

Alberto Rendon, Classified Employee of the Month

“Alberto Rendon is a positive team member to our Transportation Department. He is always professional in regards to taking calls from parents and working with the rest of our staff in Transportation and throughout the district. He is always eager to help in any situation and understands how school transportation operates.”

Alberto, a graduate of Lucerne Valley High School, has two bachelor’s degrees in communications with an emphasis on public relations and mass communication who excels in the art of communication.

“Alberto is well deserving of Employee Recognition as a Dispatcher for the Lucerne Valley Unified School District Transportation Services Department.”
