Good afternoon Lucerne Valley families. This is Peter Livingston the Superintendent of Lucerne Valley Unified School District. I wanted to update you on the status of the school closures in Lucerne Valley.
Under the direction of Ted Alejandre, the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools and with the support of San Bernardino County Public Health, all public schools in San Bernardino County including Lucerne Valley Unified School District will be closing through May 1, 2020. At this time, Lucerne Valley Unified School District will be providing opportunities for distance learning. This will begin officially after our scheduled Spring Break on March 30, 2020. We currently have some material available for grades Kindergarten through 8 on our website. As we move forward there will be opportunities to pick up work at school sites or access materials online for all grades. We are also providing school breakfasts and lunches available for pick up at the high school from 12:00 to 12:30 Monday through Friday. This is ongoing and will continue next week during our official spring break.
Please understand we are in unprecedented times and information is always changing. We are looking for the safety of all staff members while providing learning opportunities for all students. We will continue to keep you updated as we move forward.
